Hey, you can change everything to the way you want it; color, style, fonts, background, setup, anything. I just put it like this to get you started.
Now let me explain how it works. I'll start from the begining, because i don't know what you already know about it. OK, first you have to know what 'html' is. html is a file type that web browsers recognize. Like microsoft internet explorer, netscape, aol's browser, etc... they all 'read' files that end in .html . All an html file really is, is a text file like when you write a paper. The difference is that you use a programming language instead of plain english. Like if you want to make a new paragraph, you have to put certain symbols, before and at the end of the text you want in that paragraph. Then when the web browser (i.e. aol or microsoft internet explorer, etc.) reads the file it knows to make a ew paragraph and make it look all nice, like a web page. So when you see a web page, you're looking at what the web browser makes out of the text and symbols in the 'html' file. The symbols you need or the programming language html' is not hard to learn. This web site is at my school here. Try it out, it teaches you html.
Once you have an idea of what's going on try to change this page. Go to www.fortunecity.com and click 'update your home'. I emailed you your password and username. Just try fooling around with it, it just takes practice. It's not hard at all, it's just wierd getting used to. A good way to learn is to look at other peoples html for their site. I don't know if you can do this with AOL, but other browsers definately can if AOL can't. The symboled text or the 'html' text is also caled the source of the web page. So usually if you click 'view' at the top of the window, one of you options will be 'source' or 'view source'. By clicking that, you can see the html that makes the page you are looking at. Try it now on ths page if you want. Ok, email me if you need help. Good Luck. :-)
